Amazon is updating the alexa.com website and Alexa mobile app to support its new AI-powered Alexa Plus assistant.

While details are limited, these updates could provide new ways for users to interact with the improved voice assistant, which was officially announced at an event today.

At the event, Amazon demonstrated Alexa Plus handling conversations for tasks like ordering groceries, controlling smart home devices, and even checking if someone in the house has walked the dog by reviewing home camera footage. The assistant can also analyze and summarize documents, suggesting the new website and app may offer features to upload and manage such content.

Alexa Plus will be accessible through the existing Alexa app, meaning users won’t need to download a separate app, Amazon spokesperson Devon Corvasce confirmed to The Verge. The alexa.com website, which previously redirected users to general Alexa information, now leads to a dedicated Alexa Plus page.

The rollout of Alexa Plus will start in the U.S. in the coming weeks, with a phased expansion over the next few months. The service will cost $19.99 per month but will also be included in Amazon Prime subscriptions.
