Apple can breathe a sigh of relief this holiday season, as a US appeals court granted a temporary stay on a government import ban that threatened to derail their popular smartwatch line.

Apple on Tuesday filed an appeal to the International Trade Commission’s (ITC) decision to ban sales of Watch Series 9 and Watch Ultra 2 models in the US. In a court filing, Apple said that the company “will suffer irreparable harm” if the latest Watches remain off the shelves during legal proceedings.

“We are thrilled to return the full Apple Watch lineup to customers in time for the new year,” Apple said in a statement. “Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2, including the blood oxygen feature, will become available for purchase again in the United States at Apple Stores starting today and from apple.com tomorrow by 12 pm PT.”

The temporary win offers Apple a valuable window to prepare for the next phase of the legal battle.
