Apple has taken a step further in supporting users who prefer fixing their devices by adding iPhone 16 and 16 Pro repair parts to its self-service repair store.

Customers can now purchase replacement parts directly from Apple for frequently damaged components like cameras, displays, and back glass. This expansion follows the release of the iPhone 16 repair manuals back in September, as reported by MacRumors.

The cost of these parts varies depending on the component and model. Replacing a camera assembly costs $169 for the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, while it’s $249 for the 16 Pro and Pro Max. New display panels are priced between $279 and $379, based on the model, and battery replacements are set at $99 for standard iPhone 16 models and $119 for Pro versions. Apple also offers a $49 rental service for a professional repair kit if you don’t have the necessary tools at home.

This shift aligns with Apple’s evolving attitude toward repairability, making DIY repairs less daunting than in the past. Opting for self-repair can save money compared to using third-party repair shops, especially with Apple’s recent support for verified used parts. More affordable third-party components may become available soon as Apple commits to expanding support for alternative parts this year.
