Apple is considering introducing ads to Apple Maps, according to a report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.

The ads would function similarly to those in Google Maps, allowing businesses to pay for higher visibility in search results or to stand out on the map.

While the idea has been discussed internally, there is no confirmed timeline for implementation. Gurman notes that no active engineering work is currently being done on the project, suggesting that any potential rollout is still in the early stages.

Apple has not yet commented publicly on the possibility of ads in Apple Maps.
