Apple has removed several apps from the EU App Store due to non-compliance with the Digital Services Act (DSA), which now requires developers to disclose their addresses, phone numbers, and emails to consumers.
As of February 18, 2025, all apps lacking trader status have been removed and will only be reinstated once developers provide the required information, Apple announced.
According to Appfigures, nearly 135,000 apps have gone inactive across EU App Stores in the last 30 hours, impacting many smaller and independent developers.
Under the DSA rules (Articles 30 & 31), any app generating revenue—whether through paid downloads, in-app purchases, or ads—must comply. Many indie developers, who often work from home, have resorted to using virtual offices, coworking spaces, or PO boxes to protect their privacy while meeting these new requirements.
Users can now find trader details in the EU App Store under an app’s age rating and supported languages section.
