In Apple’s latest iOS 18.2 developer beta, users can now upgrade to ChatGPT Plus directly from the Settings menu, as reported by 9to5Mac.
The ChatGPT Plus subscription, which costs $19.99 per month, provides users with access to OpenAI’s GPT-4 model, offering increased message limits and enhanced features.
For those who frequently use ChatGPT on iOS, the upgrade option could be valuable, especially with Settings now tracking usage and notifying users as they near the daily free limit. It’s currently unclear if Apple will receive a share of these subscriptions.
Apple is also reportedly in discussions with Google to integrate Google’s Gemini AI model, which could lead to a similar in-Settings upgrade path. In addition, iOS 18.2 is set to include new AI-powered features like Visual Intelligence and Genmoji, with a planned release in early December, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
