October is the perfect month to curl up on the couch and watch a good movie. Netflix has a wide selection of new and classic films to choose from, so you’re sure to find something to your liking. Here are a few of the best movies to watch on Netflix in October 2023:
1. The Fall of the House of Usher
The Fall of the House of Usher” by Edgar Allan Poe and directed by legendary filmmaker Roger Corman, this thriller features Vincent Price as Roderick Usher, a man who believes his family to be cursed by incurable madness. So sure is he of his family’s doom, that when his sister Madeline (Myrna Fahey) announces her engagement to Philip Winthrop (Mark Damon), Roderick will stop at nothing to prevent their marriage and keep the Usher bloodline from continuing.
2. Pain Hustlers
After losing her job, a woman who’s struggling to raise her daughter takes a job out of desperation. She begins work at a failing pharmaceutical startup, but what she doesn’t anticipate is the dangerous racketeering scheme she’s suddenly entered.
3. The Killer
Mob assassin Jeffrey (Chow Yun-Fat) is no ordinary hired gun; the best in his business, he views his chosen profession as a calling rather than simply a job. So, when beautiful nightclub chanteuse Jennie (Sally Yeh) is blinded in the crossfire of his most recent hit, Jeffrey chooses to retire after one last job to pay for his unintended victim’s sight-restoring operation. But when Jeffrey is double-crossed, he reluctantly joins forces with a rogue policeman (Danny Lee) to make things right.
4. Heart of Stone
This spy thriller stars Gal Gadot as a CIA agent who must protect a valuable asset from dangerous criminals. The film is directed by Tom Harper, who is known for his work on Peaky Blinders and His Dark Materials.
5. Rebel Moon
When a colony on the edge of the galaxy finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius, they dispatch a young woman with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to help them take a stand.
