Bybit has suffered the largest crypto theft in history, with hackers stealing $1.46 billion from the exchange earlier today.

The attack involved the unauthorized transfer of nearly $1.5 billion in crypto from a cold wallet, raising concerns about security vulnerabilities in the platform.

Blockchain investigator ZachXBT suggests the breach may be linked to the Lazarus Group, a North Korean-backed hacking organization known for high-profile cyber heists.

The group has previously been accused of stealing $659 million in crypto last year and orchestrating the $625 million Axie Infinity hack.

Bybit CEO Ben Zhou has confirmed that the exchange remains solvent and has secured funding to cover the loss. According to Protos, the company is actively investigating the breach and implementing measures to prevent further attacks.
