Delta Airlines has taken legal action against cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike, claiming that the company was responsible for a significant IT outage that disrupted systems globally in July.

According to a lawsuit filed Friday, Delta accuses CrowdStrike of deploying “untested and faulty updates” that led to the failure of over 8.5 million Microsoft Windows-based computers worldwide, Reuters reports.

In a recent CNBC interview, Delta’s CEO voiced frustration with both Microsoft and CrowdStrike over the incident, questioning why such issues don’t occur as frequently with Apple products. Microsoft responded by asserting that Delta declined offers to assist in expediting system recovery, suggesting potential missed opportunities to reduce the disruption’s impact.
