Google has announced it is deprecating developer access to the Google Fit APIs.
The company has stopped accepting new developer sign-ups as of May 1st, 2024, and existing developers have a hard deadline of June 30th, 2025, to migrate to the Android Health platform.
This change marks a strategic shift for Google as it consolidates health and fitness data management within the Android ecosystem.
Android Health is designed to be a more secure and centralized hub, allowing for broader app integration and enhanced user control over their health data.
Developers who have built apps utilizing Google Fit APIs will need to familiarize themselves with the Health Connect migration guidelines.
