Google has introduced a new memory feature for its AI chatbot, Gemini, enabling it to remember user preferences and interests.
Currently rolling out to subscribers of Gemini Advanced through the Google One AI Premium plan, this feature allows the AI to tailor its responses based on details shared by users.
Users can input preferences like dietary choices or career details within Gemini’s “Saved Info” page. For instance, you can instruct the AI to suggest only vegetarian recipes or tailor advice to your profession. The “Saved Info” page also allows users to view, edit, or delete stored data, with Gemini transparently noting when it uses this information in responses.
Rolling out starting today, you can ask Gemini Advanced to remember your interests and preferences for more helpful, relevant responses. Easily view, edit, or delete any information you've shared, and see when it’s used.

This feature is currently available only in English. Google emphasizes that users retain control over their data and can manage how Gemini incorporates their preferences into interactions.
The memory feature aligns with trends set by OpenAI, which introduced a similar capability for ChatGPT Plus users earlier this year. Like Gemini, ChatGPT can remember user details, creating a more personalized experience in conversations.
