Google’s Gemini AI assistant is getting smarter with a new recall feature—available exclusively to Gemini Advanced subscribers through the Google One AI Premium plan.

This update allows Gemini to remember past conversations, making interactions more seamless and eliminating the need to repeat yourself or dig through old chats.

Beyond just remembering previous discussions, Gemini can now summarize past conversations and build on ongoing projects. While Google had already introduced basic memory capabilities for user preferences, this enhancement takes it further by letting the AI reference prior exchanges for more contextually aware responses.

Users have full control over their chat history and can review, delete, or manage stored conversations anytime by tapping their profile picture in the Gemini app and selecting “Gemini Apps Activity.”

The recall feature is gradually rolling out to English-speaking users on Gemini’s web and mobile apps. Google also plans to expand it to more languages and bring it to Google Workspace Business and Enterprise users in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, OpenAI’s ChatGPT also offers a similar memory function, allowing it to recall user preferences and past interactions.
