Global cryptocurrency exchange CoinEx announced that hackers stole large amounts of digital assets from its hot wallets on September 12, 2023. The stolen cryptocurrency is worth an estimated $53 million.
CoinEx said that the hackers exploited a vulnerability in its hot wallet system to gain unauthorized access to the wallets. The hot wallets are used to store cryptocurrency that is being actively traded on the exchange.

The stolen cryptocurrency includes Ethereum, Tron, and Polygon. CoinEx said that it is working with law enforcement to investigate the attack and that it will compensate users for any losses.
