I’ve recently become aware of a dangerous scam circulating on Facebook that promises quick and free Facebook page verification.

This scam preys on individuals and businesses eager to get that coveted blue checkmark, but it’s a trap designed to install malware on your system.

How this Scam Works

  1. The Lure: The scam often starts with a social media post, email, or direct message promising easy Facebook verification for pages with over 10,000 followers. They claim to have an “AI tool” that bypasses the traditional verification process.
  2. The Fake Google Drive Link: Victims are directed to a seemingly legitimate Google Drive link where they can download the “AI Tool Verifies Page” file.
  3. The “Installation Code”: The scam provides a fake “installation code” to add a false sense of legitimacy.
  4. Hidden Malware: The downloaded file is not a verification tool. It’s a malware designed to steal personal information, compromise your devices, or spread further malicious activities.

Remember: Facebook verification is meant to be a badge of authenticity. Don’t risk your online security in an attempt to get it quickly. Always follow the official channels and prioritize your cybersecurity.
