“Item not found” is a common error message in Windows, and it can be frustrating when you encounter it. This error message usually occurs when you try to delete a file or folder that no longer exists or has been moved to another location. Here’s how you can resolve this issue.

Step 1. Click on Start, Type CMD, and run as administrator.

Step 2. Type The Following Command:

Simply type the following code and folder path in the command prompt.

Code: “rd /s “\?\” without quotes.

In my case, the folder I want to delete is located in Drive C. The folder path can be different in your case.

Now press enter. You may now ask whether you want to delete the folder or not. Simply press ‘Y’ and enter. The folder will be deleted.

Sometimes, a simple restart of your computer can resolve the ‘Item Not Found’ issue. This will close any open processes that may be preventing you from deleting the item.
