Instagram is introducing updates to its profile grid to better reflect the growing dominance of vertical content on the platform.
The changes include a taller profile grid layout and tools that offer users more customization.
According to Instagram chief Adam Mosseri, the platform is exploring features that will allow users to re-order their profile grids and post directly to the grid without sharing the content to their main feed. However, Mosseri noted, “This may very well change as we iterate over the next couple months.”
Additionally, highlighted stories are expected to be integrated into the profile grid in the future, further enhancing user-profiles and aligning with Instagram’s push for vertical content. These updates underline Instagram’s efforts to adapt to shifting content trends and improve user experience.
