Apple has identified the issues causing overheating in the iPhone 15.

The company says that the problem is due to a combination of software bugs in specific apps and a bug in iOS 17. Apple is working on a software update to fix the issue, which is expected to be released in the coming weeks.

Apple also said that the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max do not suffer from overheating due to the design, rather the new titanium shells result in improved heat dissipation compared to prior stainless steel models.

In the meantime, Apple has advised users to avoid using demanding apps for extended periods of time if they are experiencing overheating issues.
