Apple is working on a new feature for iPhones that will estimate how long it will take to finish charging, as discovered in the latest iOS 18.2 beta by 9to5Mac.
This feature, called “BatteryIntelligence,” will notify users with an estimated charging time—an addition many iPhone users have been awaiting.
While some Android phones already display this information, it’s a welcome update for iPhone users given the variety of chargers and cables now available. The feature is still in development, so its official release may be a bit further down the line.
Apple has been expanding its battery health features over the years. iPhone 15 models introduced optimized charging, which stops charging at 80 percent to preserve battery life. There’s also a new battery cycle count display to help users track battery health.
