A data breach involving Lost and Found Software, a Germany-based company that manages lost and found services for multiple airports in the US, Canada, and Europe, has been discovered.

The breach was reported to Website Planet by cybersecurity researcher Jeremiah Fowler.

A non-password-protected database containing 820,750 records, totaling 122 GB, was left exposed online.

The leaked data includes images of passports, driver’s licenses, employment documents, and other identification records. Without proper security, anyone could access this sensitive information, creating a serious privacy risk.

This breach could lead to identity theft, fraud, and other security threats for those affected. It serves as a reminder of the importance of strong cybersecurity measures.

Companies handling personal data must ensure their databases are secured with encryption and proper access controls to prevent such incidents in the future.
