Meta is rolling out a new feature called broadcast channels to Facebook and Messenger.

Broadcast channels are a one-to-many messaging tool that allows creators and public figures to share messages directly with their followers. Followers can react to messages and vote in polls, but they can’t send messages themselves.

Meta says that broadcast channels are a way for creators and public figures to “engage more deeply with their followers.” And it’s easy to see why. With broadcast channels, creators can share updates, insights, and behind-the-scenes content with their fans in a more direct and personal way.

For example, a musician could use a broadcast channel to share behind-the-scenes photos and videos from their tours. A news organization could use a broadcast channel to share breaking news stories and updates. A business could use a broadcast channel to promote new products and sales. A politician could use a broadcast channel to share their thoughts on current events and answer questions from constituents.

Broadcast channels are a powerful tool that can be used to connect with and engage audiences in a variety of ways. If you’re a creator or public figure, I encourage you to give them a try when they become available.
