Tech giant Microsoft is making it easier to invite friends to an Xbox Cloud Gaming session by introducing shareable links.
Users can send these links through Xbox messages or copy them to any messaging app. Players can accept invites on a supported PC or mobile web browser and jump in immediately or receive a code to enter on TVs or streaming devices with Xbox gaming features.
Participants must have an Xbox account, and some games require an active Game Pass Ultimate subscription. Additionally, each player must have an “entitlement” to the game, either by owning it, accessing it through Game Pass, or playing during a free period. Users can invite as many friends as the game allows and revoke access to the link at any time. Certain games will also provide the ability to remove unwanted players from sessions.
This feature is part of Microsoft’s broader expansion of Xbox Cloud Gaming, which recently introduced the ability to stream personally owned games to consoles, mobile devices, PCs, and TVs. Initially launching with 50 supported titles, Microsoft has since added more games, including Blasphemous II, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, and Subnautica.
