Tech giant Microsoft has deployed a recovery tool to salvage millions of Windows machines left reeling from a faulty CrowdStrike security update.

The update, released last week, triggered a widespread Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) outbreak, affecting an estimated 8.5 million devices. This critical failure brought businesses, government agencies, and even essential services to their knees.

The tool creates a bootable USB drive that IT admins can use to help quickly recover impacted machines.

Here’s What You Need:

  • A Windows 64-bit machine with admin privileges
  • A USB drive with at least 1GB of storage
  • A BitLocker recovery key (if applicable)

The recovery tool is available for download from the official Microsoft Download Center.
