Nvidia‘s French offices were raided by the country’s competition authority this week, on suspicion of anticompetitive practices in the cloud computing market.

The raid comes as regulators around the world are increasingly scrutinizing the tech industry for potential antitrust violations.

The French Competition Authority (FCA) is reportedly investigating whether Nvidia has abused its dominant position in the graphics processing unit (GPU) market to stifle competition in the cloud computing market. GPUs are essential components for many cloud computing applications, such as artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Nvidia has denied any wrongdoing and said it is cooperating with the FCA’s investigation. The company said it is committed to fair competition and to providing its customers with innovative products and services.
