The official OpenAI Newsroom account on X, which shares news and updates from the company and has nearly 54,000 followers, was taken over to promote a fraudulent cryptocurrency scheme.
Yesterday at 6:24 PM ET, the account posted a now-deleted tweet announcing a fake “$OPENAI” token, claiming it would bridge AI and blockchain technology.
