The Ragnar Locker ransomware group has claimed responsibility for an attack on Mayanei Hayeshua, a hospital in Bnei Brak, Israel. The ransomware group is also threatening to leak 1 TB of data allegedly stolen during the cyberattack.

The Ragnar Locker group is a well-known ransomware operation that has targeted a wide range of organizations, including hospitals, schools, and businesses. The group typically demands a large ransom payment in exchange for decrypting the victim’s data.

“First of all, we want to emphasize that since this is a medical institution – we didn’t run any encryption to avoid equipment malfunctions, or necessary instruments,” reads the Ragnar Locker data leak site.

“However, serious vulnerabilities allows us to download a lot of data and someone else in our place could use such vulnerability in any other way.”

The Israeli government has condemned the attack on Mayanei Hayeshua and has vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice.
