Reddit users worldwide faced a significant outage today, rendering the platform inaccessible for approximately 45 minutes.
The issue, which began at 4:16 PM ET, caused users to encounter a “Server error. Try again later” message displayed in a red banner across the site. Subreddits and individual posts were also affected, preventing millions of users from engaging with content.
Reddit’s status page initially reported “degraded performance” before confirming that the problem had been identified and addressed by 4:45 PM ET. The company stated, “A fix has been implemented, and we are monitoring the results,” indicating that the situation was under control.
This outage follows a similar incident in April, where a back-end issue led to widespread downtime.
