The Premium tier, which offers all of the benefits of the Essential and Extra tiers plus cloud gaming and a catalog of classic games, will increase from $120 per year to $160 per year.

Sony says that the price increase is necessary to “continue bringing high-quality games and value-added benefits to your PlayStation Plus subscription service.”

The company also says that it will be offering a grace period for current subscribers so that they will not be affected by the price increase until their next renewal date.
