Spanish authorities have seized a massive shipment of cocaine weighing 700 kilograms that was bound for the Canary Islands.
The drugs were found hidden in a shipping container that had been shipped from South America.
The seizure was made by the Spanish Civil Guard (Guardia Civil) in collaboration with Europol. The Guardia Civil had been tracking the shipment for several weeks after receiving intelligence that it was carrying drugs.
The drugs were found hidden in a false compartment in the shipping container. The compartment was only accessible through a small opening that had been concealed by a false panel.
The cocaine has an estimated street value of over €100 million. The Guardia Civil has arrested four people in connection with the seizure.
