Music streaming giant Spotify is reportedly limiting ad payouts for white noise podcasters, a move that could impact the income of some creators.

The company is reportedly changing its Ambassador Ads program, which pays podcasters to read ads for Spotify content. Under the new rules, white noise podcasters will no longer be eligible to participate in the program.

The change is reportedly due to the fact that white noise podcasts are relatively low-cost to produce, but they can generate a lot of ad revenue.

Spotify is said to be concerned that this is driving down the overall ad rates for all podcasters.
