TikTok announced on Sunday that it is “in the process of restoring service” for users in the U.S., but the app remains unavailable for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
Both platforms have restricted TikTok downloads due to ongoing legal requirements tied to the federal ban on ByteDance, TikTok’s parent company.
App Store and Google Play Messages
Searching for TikTok on the App Store shows a message stating, “TikTok and other ByteDance apps are not available in the country or region you’re in.” Google Play users see a similar message: “Downloads for this app are paused due to current US legal requirements.” Apple’s message also links to a support page explaining the app’s removal.
