Dating giant Tinder is updating its Explore page with new categories to help users find matches based on their relationship goals.

The latest update introduces sections such as “Serious Dater,” “Long-Term Partner,” “Non-Monogamy,” and “Short-Term Fun,” allowing users to browse profiles that align with their dating preferences.

To be eligible for the “Serious Dater” category, users must complete their bio, upload at least four photos, and set their relationship goals to a long-term commitment. Tinder first introduced its Explore page in 2021, originally featuring interest-based groups like “Gamers,” “Animal Parents,” and “Binge Watchers.” The platform also allowed users to discover matches available for spontaneous meetups through the “Free Tonight” feature.

The update comes as dating apps continue to evolve. Notably, Bumble’s founder, Whitney Wolfe Herd, recently returned as CEO, signaling potential changes in the dating app industry.

By introducing relationship-focused categories, Tinder aims to reduce dating fatigue and improve match quality. As more users shift toward real-world social interactions, the update could help keep online dating relevant by making the experience more personalized and efficient.
