Sexting is sending, receiving, or forwarding sexually explicit messages, photographs, or images, primarily between mobile phones, of oneself to others

Let’s be honest, Sexting is extremely common these days. Recent studies say 74% of American adults and 67% of international adults admit to sending or receiving explicit texts, photos, or videos, and most of them say they are in committed relationships.

We, Abijita Foundation do not recommend SEXTING, However, we are sharing some tips to sext as safely as possible. For more information read our TERMS & CONDITIONS.

Take these thing seriously !

  • ONCE YOU SEND YOUR INTIMATE IMAGES THERE IS NOT WAY TO UNDO THAT
  • YOUR INTIMATE IMAGES COULD BE USED TO MANIPULATE YOU IN THE FUTURE
  • IF YOUR INTIMATE IMAGES IS LEAKED ONLINE THEN IT COULD AFFECT YOU MENTALLY AND EMOTIONALLY
  • YOU COULD BE HARASSED AND BULLIED
  • IF YOUR PARENTS OR CAREGIVERS FIND OUT THEN YOU COULD BE IN A TROUBLE.
  • WHEN YOU FORWARDED A SEXT, IT COULD MEAN SOMEONE IS SHOWING IT TO FRIENDS, POSTING IT ONLINE, SENDING IT TO OTHER PEOPLE OR TRADING IT FOR OTHER SEXUAL IMAGES.

Sharing sexual images of others can cause a lot of harm to the person depicted in the message. It’s a betrayal of their trust and can affect their social and emotional well-being. If you receive a sexual photo/video from someone other than the person who created it, it could be illegal.

Sexting can be a great way to connect intimately with a partner when you are not together in the same location, when you are wanting to spice up your sex life, or when you are exploring your own sexuality or your sexuality with a new partner,” said Melissa Coats, psychotherapist and owner at Coats Counseling, LLC.

Tips For Safer Sexting

Sexting may be fun, but that doesn’t mean it’s safe. If you decide to send a sext, there are some things you can do to help protect yourself. The following tips may help you send safer sexts, especially if the sext contains photo/video.

Never Include Your Face

As scary as it sounds, all it takes is one person to share your racy photo with the world. That’s why you should consider whether to frame your face in your next sext. Don’t forget other identifiable features, such as tattoos — if no one can prove it’s you, maybe you’ll sleep better at night.

Don’t Sext While You Are Drunk

If drinking and texting don’t mix, then drinking and sexting are definitely a risk.

Turn Off Google Photos/ iCloud Photos Or Any Cloud Service

Before you begin sexting, make sure any cloud service is turned off… you don’t want to back up these photos or videos in your regular cloud, as that makes them more vulnerable to cyberattacks, If you ever take a photo using your phone’s camera, make sure to get rid of its EXIF data, which shows the approximate location you took the photo as well as other metadata. You can do this with apps like ViewExif, an iOS extension.

Sext Over A Secure Device

If you have multiple devices that are connected to each other, think twice before hitting send. Let’s say you’re sexting from your iPhone through iMessage, and your iPad is connected to your iMessage. Your iPad sitting at home will also go off, and it may just catch your roommate’s attention.

This can also happen through instant messaging apps like WhatsApp, Google Hangouts and Facebook Messenger. To avoid this situation, make sure you send text messages through a single, secure device, and understand which devices your recipient uses to store his or her messages.

Delete ASAP

That way, you’ll avoid a major oops! moment when showing pals shots of your cute nephew. Concerned your guy may not be as careful? Make sexts tame enough so that you wouldn’t be mortified if his buddy caught a glimpse.
