Good news for iPhoneographers! WhatsApp has finally rolled out a long-awaited feature for iOS users: the ability to share photos and videos in their original quality.
This means no more sacrificing precious pixels or vibrant colors to the compression gods of WhatsApp.
Previously, sharing media on WhatsApp meant accepting a significant downgrade in resolution and detail. This was especially noticeable for photos and videos captured on high-end iPhones, which often ended up looking blurry and washed out.
The new update changes everything. Now, when you choose to share a photo or video, you’ll have the option to send it as a file instead of compressing it. This ensures that the recipient receives the media exactly as you captured it, with all its original glory intact.
This feature was spotted being tested by a small subset of users in November, but is now releasing to all iOS users.
