Windows Insiders are about to see the Copilot icon in yet another place—Paint.

Users in the Canary and Dev channels will soon notice a new button as part of an update rolling out now, consolidating AI tools into one accessible spot.

Clicking the Copilot button on the taskbar will bring up a dropdown menu featuring AI-powered tools like Cocreator, Image Creator, and Generative Erase. Microsoft has been steadily integrating Copilot across Windows, from keyboards to the taskbar, and now Paint joins the list.

Over the past year, Microsoft has been enhancing Paint with AI-driven image generation features. The DALL-E-based Cocreator was introduced in late 2023, followed by generative fill tools last fall. Now, all these features are being grouped under one roof, making it easier than ever to create AI-generated art. If you’re looking to whip up some AI-powered clip art, just keep an eye out for the Copilot logo. Honestly, Paint seems like a much better fit for a Copilot shortcut than Bing.

Alongside this update, Windows 11 Insiders are also receiving an enhancement to AI search, which was initially introduced in preview earlier this month. The improved search functionality will now allow users to find photos stored in the cloud using natural language queries. Previously, AI search was limited to local files. With this upgrade, searches will return results from both local storage and cloud files, making it easier to locate images. This update is rolling out to Insiders in the Dev and Beta channels now.
