YouTube is rolling out its dedicated Community space feature to more creators, offering them a new way to engage with their fans—without having to rely on external platforms like Discord.

Initially introduced during last fall’s Made for YouTube event, Communities is a mobile-only feature that allows creators to share posts with images and text, while also giving fans the ability to start discussions. YouTube has been testing this feature with a limited group of creators and has received positive feedback. “That’s why we’re excited to expand access even further,” the platform shared in a recent update.

Creators will be able to manage and moderate their Community interactions through a dedicated Community Hub in the YouTube Studio app. This hub will consolidate activity from their channel, making it easier to stay on top of fan engagement. Additionally, creators will have access to suggested replies, helping them respond efficiently to their audience.

Community Tab Gets a New Name

To avoid confusion, YouTube is renaming the existing Community tab to Posts. The functionality remains unchanged—creators can still share updates and announcements, while viewers can comment and interact with posts as usual.

How to Get Access

For now, creators will need an invitation to access the new Communities feature. Invitations will be sent via email and as a banner notification on their YouTube channel page within the app. Once invited, creators can head to “Go to Community” to learn more and enable the feature.
