Zoom has confirmed that its services are back online after a major outage disrupted access to meetings and the platform’s website for several hours on Wednesday afternoon.

The issue began around 11:40 a.m. PT, with users reporting problems logging in and receiving “Unable to Connect” errors when trying to join meetings. Zoom’s website and even its media contact inbox were briefly inaccessible.

At the peak of the disruption, more than 59,000 users had reported problems on DownDetector, highlighting the widespread nature of the outage.

By 2 p.m. PT, Zoom posted an update on X (formerly Twitter):

“Service has now been restored after the earlier outage, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding.”

While the exact cause of the outage hasn’t been confirmed, reports and a Reddit thread suggest it may have been DNS-related. However, Zoom has not provided an official explanation, referring media inquiries to its brief status update.

The outage impacted users across the U.S., affecting both enterprise and personal meetings, raising concerns about the platform’s reliability during critical business hours.
